Lori Cook

Lori Cook is a passionate educator whose sole desire is to help teachers create a student-centered mathematics classroom that requires student voice and inquiry. Data analysis with ongoing formative assessment, in addition to engaging and cognitively challenging mathematics instruction, significantly increased student performance in her high-risk/urban mathematics classrooms. Over the past decade and a half, Lori has worked with numerous K-12 systems to improve the quality of math instruction to meet the demands of the new math standards and create an environment where students engage in self-assessment and peer assessment. In addition to coaching elementary, middle, and high school teachers on effective math strategies and learning environments, she has also guided K-12 teams of teachers and coaches as they develop district wide curriculum. Student engagement and test scores have significantly increased because of clarity and precision in teacher practices and student outcomes.
