Dr. Gregory VanHorn’s experience and expertise lies in his knowledge and research with the power of collaborative teams and shared decision-making.  Over the past decade, Greg has worked as a middle level principal, a Race to the Top liaison between the state department of education and several large urban district leadership teams, and as an educational coach of principals and teachers.  Greg has a keen interest and passion in seeing increases in student learning as a result of teachers and administrators working together in using student data and collective inquiry in arriving at effective teaching strategies.  Over the past 35 years, he has had teaching and administrative experience in urban and rural districts including serving as a special education teacher, director of special education, co-director of a vocational career center, and principal of a school serving at-risk students.

Currently, Dr. VanHorn is working as a teacher and principal’s coach and modeling collaborative team facilitation within K-12 districts.  He strongly believes in empowering teachers and administrators to take leadership roles in their school buildings to ultimately benefit educator quality and student learning.  Greg believes this can be accomplished through regular and consistent team meetings, growth, and development of trust among working colleagues.
